The NEW NEW from the gentlemen at Crowned Heads! Jon Huber, co-founder of Crowned Heads, said this cigar was inspired by Eddie Van Halen's guitar solo from the song "Eruption". Rolled at Tabacalera Pichardo in Esteli, Nicaragua (same factory that the Crowned Heads Juarez was produced at), this cigar uses an Ecuadorian Habano Oscuro wrapper with a Nicaraguan binder and Nicaraguan fillers from Jalapa, Ometepe and Pueblo Nuevo. Ecuadorian Habano wrapper leaf usually has a very smooth and glassy feel on the tongue. Jalapa tobacco predominately brings slight sweetness to a cigar and tobaccos from Ometepe bring profile-builders as they are grown on an island directly between two volcanoes! This cigar begins medium with smooth, earthy notes and picks up strength as it burns. Slight pepper tickles the nose on the retrohale and in its current aging finishes a bit rough. We made sure to smoke through several of each vitola and feel the cigar could use some aging for a few months to smooth out the finish!
